Athletes (for web).002

The Documentary Series

In an age where success is often measured by fame and fortune alone, the purpose of sport is lost in the economic drive to commercialize all aspects of life. This documentary short draws out the possibilities of what sport can teach us through the eyes of six local Calgary amateur athletes.

As part of an Artist-in-Residency with Sport Calgary and Calgary 2012, the director Chris Hsiung selected a variety of non-mainstream sports to illustrate the deep commonalities that all athletes share. Their message will find resonance with anyone who is striving to achieve excellence.
